Lahey Clinic Urologist, Arthur Mourtzinos, MD, to join the

medical staff of the Lahey Institute for Urology at Parkland Medical Center

 

Derry, NH  - Parkland Medical Center is pleased to announce that Lahey Clinic urologist,  Arthur Mourtzinos, MD has joined fellow Lahey physician and Medical Director David Canes, MD, at the Lahey Institute for Urology at Parkland Medical Center.  Dr. Mourtzinos’s addition at Parkland brings Lahey’s expertise in the treatment of female urological conditions closer to home for New Hampshire residents.

 

Dr. Mourtzinos received his medical degree from Boston University School of Medicine and is a graduate of the urology residency program at Lahey Clinic.  He completed a fellowship in male and female pelvic reconstructive surgery and urinary incontinence at the University of California, Los Angeles.  Dr. Mourtzinos has expertise in these specialties and subspecialty expertise in treating patients with complex pelvic injuries, pelvic floor prolapse, urinary incontinence and cancer-related abnormalities of the pelvic floor and urinary tract.     

 

Under the leadership of robotic surgeon David Canes, MD, a sub-specialist in minimally invasive urologic surgery, the Lahey Institute of Urology at Parkland Medical Center treats a spectrum of conditions, including prostate, bladder, kidney and ureteral cancers, as well as kidney stones, adrenal masses and ureteral blockages.  “Dr. Mourtzinos will be a true asset to the communities of southern New Hampshire,” Dr. Canes explains, “not only because of his unparalleled expertise in female urology, but also because of his kindness and compassion.”

 

Established in September 2008, the Lahey Institute of Urology at Parkland Medical Center represents a collaborative clinical partnership between the world-renowned Lahey Clinic in Burlington, Massachusetts and Parkland Medical Center.  The vision is for the Institute to bring subspecialty urologic care to the communities of southern New Hampshire.
